Opportunity Center | 4J
Opportunity Center has a twofold purpose. The first is to provide experiences that encourage student emotional and social growth, self-awareness, responsibility and self-esteem. The second purpose is to provide the educational skills that will enable students to transition to the world of work or to additional education and training after high school. Opportunity Center is a small, award-winning alternative high school with a family atmosphere. One of the oldest alternative programs in the state of Oregon, the school began in 1971 to meet the needs of at-risk middle school students, and evolved into an alternative high school during the 1983–84 school year.
